Hi all! I know it’s been a long (loooooong) time since we last updated PracticallyEverAfter.com. So, first things first, I’m really sorry about that. We had a lot of readers who came to rely on good wedding advice from us on a daily basis, but the time commitment to keep posting updates got to be too much, and… well… no excuses. We’re just bad wedding bloggers, I guess.

But the crazy thing is that even after we stopped making new wedding savings posts, people kept coming to the site. And coming, and coming, and coming. So finally we’ve decided it’s time to start wedding blogging again, and that’s what we’re doing.

So welcome back to Practically Ever After. We’re sorry it’s been a while since our last wedding savings advice post, but we’re going to make it up to you by turning Practically Ever After into the best wedding blog on the Internet. Are you ready to live practically ever after?

I’ve talked a lot about wedding savings tips, but how about some tips to save for a wedding? Yes, we all know to not buy brand products, or to cut back on the coffee runs, but here are some ways to cut your expenses and save money for your big day:

1. Evaluate and categorize your spending. Figure out exactly how much money you spend on your bills and how much money you spend on fun time. Take a hard look at how much your extravagant or unnecessary purchases are costing you.

2. Make a budget. Figure out how much money you actually need to pay for the mandatory things in your life. Yes, fun and pleasure are mandatory and should be their own budget line.

3. After making your budget, figure out how much money you can save. Make savings goals and projections to figure out how much money you can save over time.

4. Keep a record of everything you spend each month to re-evaluate if your budget or your savings need to be adjusted.

Hey All! I’ve got some bad news and some good news. First… the bad news. Chelsea, your wedding Diva, has come down with a serious case of the “too-much-to-do’s.” Something had to give, and sadly, it looks like it’s got to be Practically Ever After.

Hey All! I’ve got some bad news and some good news. First… the bad news. Chelsea, your wedding Diva, has come down with a serious case of the “too-much-to-do’s.” Something had to give, and sadly, it looks like it’s got to be Practically Ever After.

I know… sad, right? But it seems Chelsea has developed quite a following in her seven months or so of blogging about weddings, and she absolutely hated to disappoint all of you, her loyal readers. When heard this… I just couldn’t resist. I’ve been reading her wedding savings blog, Practically Ever After, for a while now, so I told her I’d be willing to help. So that’s the good news. You have a new wedding savings guru… me… Jessie!

To be fair, I’m not exactly on the “fast track” to getting married. But have you ever seen that Katherine Heigl movie, 27 Dresses? That’s kind of like me. I’ve been a bridesmaid at least a dozen times, and I’ve even been maid of honor a solid seven of those times. So yeah… I’ve got a bit of a wedding sweet-tooth, to say the least. And I definitely have a lot of experience!

For me, Practically Ever After is a chance to share all of that wedding advice with the world, and I’m really excited about it! Look for PEA.com to change a bit… there will be a lot of savings, but I’m going to focus on wedding advice of all sorts. Sound exciting? I sure hope so! I know I’m excited about it, and I hope you enjoy what I hope can become the best wedding advice blog on the Net. So here’s to an even more practical ever after…
