I’ve been looking for ways to make our wedding really fun. One inexpensive option is wedding games. Here are some game ideas which I am excited to try out:

Treasure hunt/Musical Chairs:

Get together a group of people, and chairs for everyone except one person and put all the chairs on the dance floor. Each participant is given a card with an item to find in the reception hall (a piece of fruit from the buffet, your grandma’s shoe, a groomsman’s boutonniere, etc). While participants search for their items, have competition music playing. The last person back, who doesn’t have a chair, will have to do chores for the bride and groom for a year.

Kiss for a Dare:

Instead of guests clinking their glasses or ringing a bell to make the bride and groom kiss, put dares or tasks on each of the tables. If the table would like to see you kiss, they will have to do what is on the card. Please customize cards for every table, so that the kids table has to do the funky chicken and not take shots of vodka.

Garter Relay:

Make two teams of male participants. Teams will flip a coin to see who goes first. Each team will line up across from a chair. Participants will pick a number between 1-10 to see who sits in the chair first. Each subsequent participant must race to the chair and put a garter on the person sitting in the chair, once they do they will switch places. The garter-wearer will run back to the front of the line, remove the garter and hand it to the next participant. The team with the fastest time wins.

I was scanning wedding headlines today and I came across this little bit of wedding planning “novelty.” Apparently someone in Minneapolis got the “brilliant” idea that there’s a lot of wedding advice to be found online, and a lot of wedding resources as well. So she built a store where brides could go in and search all sorts of digital resources.

Umm… as someone who writes a digital wedding advice column, let me be the first to say: “Hey all you brides out there! You don’t have to do to a physical store to find digital resources with wedding ideas.” Surprising, right? You’d think so if someone is creating a store for it. But guess what… a few years back, mankind stumbled onto a cool little discovery called the “Internet.” And if you want to research things, you can just open a computer, go online, and research them without leaving your house.

I guess I’m probably preaching to the choir by pointing out here that the Internet is packed full of wedding advice websites like Practically Ever After, and you don’t need to go anywhere or (for the most part) pay anything to access them. But if someone wants to pay for the overhead of a store so people can access digital wedding advice, well, I guess, more power too them. I, on the other, hand, think I’ll stick with surfing the Internet from my couch when I want to do my wedding vendor research. It just seems more convenient (plus, I don’t have to leave my bath robe).

Surprise wedding dances are quite popular in many wedding celebrations. No matter how many couples have done it, it still is a hit among the guests. Youtube is flooded with this kind of wedding entertainment. In fact, the video I am going to show you today was also taken from youtube.

We have featured surprise wedding dances in the past, so what makes this different? This wedding surprise dance was performed by the bride and her dad. This is a father and daughter tandem. So why not the groom you might ask? I don’t know, probably the bride’s dad was a better dancer than the groom.

So to all soon-to-be-grooms out there. Start buying your dancing shoes and learn thing or two from this pair. Don’t let your father in-law get all the praises. But kidding aside, this was really cute. The bride’s father gave his love by being such a good sport and gave the guests — and groom — some unforgettable and inexpensive wedding entertainment.

Hello, beautiful patrons of PracticallyEverAfter. Today, I would like to feature a video from a visitor who left a comment on this site. He left the url of this video in the comment box under Wedding Toast: The Musical.

Hunter just wanted to share his experience as groomsman of his good friend, JJ, and how he paid tribute to JJ and his bride, Amber, by giving a toast — troubadour style. Medieval, yes, but sexy indeed.

So, I clicked the link, watched his clip, and guffawed until the end of his song. I said to myself, this is brilliant. I wasn’t a part of the wedding, and I don’t know JJ and Amber personally, yet his song made me feel I knew all of them for a long time already. I felt I was with the crowd sharing laughter with them. I loved it. Which is why I felt this video deserved to be one of our featured video.

Thank you Hunter dahlen, for sharing this with us, I love you already. Your toast was spectacular. You prepared for it, you were witty, and you made the crowd laugh. There were times where you fumbled, but you got right back up by being a wisecrack. Most of all, you made Amber and JJ’s wedding a memorable day. Because of you the couple had a lot of wedding savings for having an inexpensive wedding entertainment from you. I sure wish to post your wedding video here someday. Thank you for the link. Toodles.

On the 23rd of July 2009, we featured a video of the coolest wedding entrance ever. Today, in the spirit of fun, we will show you a parody of that video. It seemed that Kevin and Jill’s wedding entrance video on youtube got so popular, with hits of around… 10 million? So popular that some people loved the idea so much to make a parody of it.

Kevin and Jill gave us inexpensive wedding advice. You don’t have to spend a lot to make your wedding day memorable. All you need is your imagination to make your wedding really fun and exciting. The element of surprise is slowly creeping into the wedding scene.

On behalf of the people from practicallyeverafter.com., thank you, Kevin and Jill, for being a good example to all of us. Cheers.

Hi, everyone. I was surfing the internet the other day and stumbled upon a very interesting story. The story was not about how this girl had a great but inexpensive wedding. It is also not about how awesome her wedding party was, either. It is about a really hilarious wedding and honeymoon adventure.

Actually, if you were in the author’s shoes, it was quite horrifying. Her story can even be an inspiration for a future Stephen King novel. What she and her husband went through was a nightmare. If that had happened to me, I might have looked for a rock, crawled underneath it, and sulked there the rest of my life. But they survived it and now, they just laugh about the whole experience. She was even kind enough to share her story with the public. She hopes we learn something or simply laugh along as she reminisces the things that went wrong during her wedding and honeymoon.

Beyondthesparkle’s story is quite lengthy but truly worth your while. Happy reading.
