Have you ever experienced attending a wedding and something really funny or outrageous happened? Well, I have. And I’m sure some of you have also experienced unexpected things which happened in a wedding you have attended.

It was the wedding of a good friend of mine and I was one of the bridesmaids. I overheard the best man talking about the groom’s ordeal. The best man said that the groom was awake the whole night because he was really nervous about his wedding. He couldn’t sleep. He kept on calling him, the best man, on the phone. The best man tried to convince the groom to rest, but his pleads fell on deaf ears. Desperate for a shut eye the best man gently hanged up and unplugged the wire of his phone while the groom was busy blabbering. The best man said he went back to sleep with a smile on his face.

When the wedding planner told us that the ceremony will start shortly, we all went to our places and got ready to march down the aisle. My friend the bride was really beautiful and the groom looked handsome as well, though, a little sluggish.

We were all seated and listening to the priest’s homily. As the priest was about to end his homily a loud strange sound suddenly caught our attention which kept us all really quiet. We all looked at each other searching for the location where the strange sound was coming from. It was like a growl of a menacing animal. We were all looking from left to right when we saw the bride giggling. She then burst out laughing while shaking the groom gently. Then we learned that the groom fell asleep and snoring out loud. The priest was also laughing with bride and jokingly said: “In Jesus name, I command thee to rise!” Then everybody started to guffaw.

That was really one hilarious wedding I have attended. Now, I will link you to a site where you can read more hilarious wedding stories from real people. They are not fabricated stories; they are contributions by random people who have witnessed funny things which happened in the wedding they have attended.

Just click the link and enjoy the stories. We’ll have more wedding blog posts about wedding savings and how to have inexpensive wedding for this week. Just keep on checking this site for new wedding blog posts. Have a great week and enjoy planning your wedding.

Here’s a nasty, but pretty funny, wedding speech from a best man who hates the bride for monopolizing his friend’s time. Two New Zealand disc jockeys called him up and asked if he would like to rehearse his speech on air. The best man obliged and the DJs couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing the speech while broadcasting it nationwide.

The speech was delivered the way a horse race track announcer would deliver a blow by blow account of the race. It’s pretty funny that it seems the bride’s groom and his friends are very much into horse racing. Lesson learned here is, if you are a bride, you better be nice to your groom’s friends. Coz, if this happens to you, never mind all the wedding savings you had since the wedding would be ruined anyway.

Most of the time, the groom chooses his brother, best friend, or a very close relative to be his best man. What if you have no brothers, or you’re the only guy in your whole clan? What if your best friend is a girl? What I’m trying to say here is, what if you don’t have someone really close to ask to be your best man… who you gonna call? Definitely not the Ghost Busters!

Here are the things you should consider when choosing your best man.

First, the guy you should choose must know you pretty well. Remember he is the one who’s going to give you a toast. That’s why a brother, a best friend, or a close relative such as a cousin, is your best bet. You don’t want to write your own toast for him, do yah?

Second is… he should be responsible enough. Almost all the time, the best man is responsible for arranging the stag party. He should make sure that this particular night on the last day of your bachelorhood is going to be fabulous without letting it get out of hand. And you know what I mean, dahlen.

And of course, the most important thing is reliability. If you don’t know it yet, a best man has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. He is the groom’s representative. He is the groom’s PR manager. He is the groom’s executive assistant. He makes sure that everything is looking great on the groom’s side. Don’t choose someone like the guy in the video below. Nobody wants their wedding to turn into baptism. What a tragic wedding. Saving the bride was the only thing in the groom’s mind that day.

I hope you now have a very good idea about how important the best man is. In my future blogs, I’m going to list down the responsibilities of a best man, and I promise you that it’s not going to be a short list! Toodles.

Her soon-to-be husband is the luckiest guy on earth. No, not because he had a tremendous deal and got really great wedding savings. But he’s got a girl with way too much sense of humor. No matter how lame his jokes are, his wife definitely goes LOL. See if you’ll find things just as hilarious as this bride does. Click the video.

Here’s a collection of wedding speeches given by either the best man or the groom which will surely make you cry. Speeches are a form of an inexpensive wedding gift (only the good ones) you can give to someone you really love.

This guy made me cry, because he delivered the worst speech ever. Okay, he was nervous, but his nervousness ruined the whole thing. I guess I won’t be to hard on the guy, because not so long ago, I experienced what he went through. And that’s the reason why I cried when I watched this video. He made me remember one of the worst days of my life.

This best man here made me cry because he made me laugh so hard. He gave a toast to the newlyweds and the only thing they did was laugh at everything he was saying. He added more life to the wedding celebration and it was one of the things the newlyweds and the guests will never forget.

He made an impact on everybody (especially me), without upstaging the bride and the groom. From the start of his toast to the very end, everyone was laughing so hard. Truly, this was one of the best speeches ever given by a best man. He may have taken most of the speech from the net, but he pulled it off pretty well. If there’s any wedding advice we can give here, that would be for the best man to make the speech fun without upstaging the couple of the day. Here’s the video. Enjoy watching.

Now here’s a very sentimental speech from the groom. A speech that came from his heart. The sweetest things a groom can possibly say to his parents, in-laws and his bride was delivered perfectly in one short speech. No wonder this girl married this guy. I hate him for making me cry. Watch him and weep.

I feel extra fabulous today. I feel like a bride about to march down the aisle all beautiful and ready to exchange ‘I do’s’ with a dashing, handsome Prince Charming. Well, as far as I know, dreaming is still free in this country, so don’t give me that look.

The wedding diva is back and today I’m going to talk about making the groom as equally smashing as his bride on their wedding day. They always say that the bride is the star of the wedding day. Yes, it’s true, but what about the groom? Can’t they equally share the billing? In my opinion, in a wedding, if the only one shining is the bride, then the groom must be a total loser.

There’s a saying that goes, “Don’t stay behind me for I may not lead, don’t stay in front of me for I may not follow, just stay beside me and be my husband FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!” Well, I kinda tweaked the last part of it. Hehehe….

So, what should the groom do for him to look marvelous on his wedding day? Yes, some of it may not be inexpensive. Weddings are once in a lifetime big event anyway (for most), so he better look his best on that day or the bride might pull a Julia Roberts on him and runaway as fast as she could. Here are some tips to have make him look like a zillion bucks:

Diet. They say you are what you eat. Then if you eat unhealthy foods, then most probably, you are unhealthy. If you look sickly on your wedding day, you might as well bring a casket with you. If you are, say, the size of a small planet, then it’s time for you to lessen your food intake. No, I won’t say you should eat only celery or carrots, you’re not a rabbit. When I say diet, I don’t mean starve yourself to death. That kind of diet — according to Garfield — is “die” with a “t”. Just eat healthier servings of food — better planned out with help from a nutritionist. On the other hand, if you’re the type who is afraid to hit the showers for fear of slipping down the drain, then it’s time for you to enter a weight gaining program.

Grooming. Unless you are a really famous rock star or Fabio himself, you better cut your hair short and stop looking like an overused mop. Ask a hairstylist on what hairstyle would best make you look like a Prince (though not Prince Valiant, I hope) on your wedding day. Have a hot oil treatment or scalp massage. Speaking of massages, go to a spa, and pamper yourself. Going for a massage is relaxing and beneficial to your health. It will correct the flow of your blood and make your skin glow. Don’t forget to have your fingers manicured and have a pedicure to complete the grooming package. Also visit your dentist so you can flash a killer smile on your wedding day. Oh, and don’t forget to shave. Unless you have facial hair that would make you look like a Tom Selleck or Burt Reynolds – not that anyone really wants to work the ‘stache nowadays regardless of what celeb you look like — lose the facial hair.

Skin Care. Visit your dermatologist and have a facial. Your face will look so much better without the blackheads and whiteheads. They can also get rid of your acne. If you think going to a dermatologist is too much trouble and won’t contribute to your wedding savings, then just use skin care products that can do all of these as part of a cleansing program a few weeks before your big day. Use exfoliant to clean your face and tighten the pores; blackhead remover to make your face look fresh and clean; and moisturizer to hydrate the skin and make it softer. Now if you’ve got rough, crater-like skin, sand paper won’t help, be a good boy and go to a dermatologist.

Make-up. A lot of men are now using make-up to make them look fabulous. Big star celebrities use this everyday on the set. Al Pacino, Bruce Willis, and Brad Pitt they all put on make-up. Are they gay? My point exactly. Putting on a light foundation won’t make you gay. I didn’t say for you to wear make-up like a drag queen, so stop whining. You will look positively flawless, especially in your wedding pictures. You and your bride will look marvelous together. You won’t hear people say, “What a beautiful bride! But who’s that Scarface loser beside her?” or “Why was she taking pictures with the waiter?”

Dress Well. For your wife-to-be, try to dress well even if it’s for only a day. Use the right combination. If you are wearing brown shoes, then use a brown belt. If you’re using black, then use a black belt. Don’t wear a belt if your trousers are already being supported by suspenders. If you are wearing a pin-striped or any decorated polo shirt under your coat, better wear a solid color necktie to be safe. Use printed neckties on plain shirts. Just don’t use the one with cartoon characters, unless it’s a Loony Toons-themed wedding. Plain dress shirts are much preferable under a coat, just to be safe. And it’s alway better to ask tips from your tailor or designer. Black leather shoes will look good with any suit, so put your Chucks aside for awhile, PLEASE!

Listen guys, I’m not preparing you to become flaming fairies. That’s me, not you. All I want is to make you look and feel great on your wedding day and not be just under the shadow of your lovely, dolled-up bride. It’s your day too. Look good so your bride won’t look bad. Toodles!
