I always explain that there are lots of ways to make your wedding fancy, special or even unique without spending a lot of money.  I’m not sure I would like our wedding to be remembered as the wedding where they said Dr. Seuss vows, but this is certainly a creative idea.   Happy Friday everyone!

I’ve been looking for ways to make our wedding really fun.  One inexpensive option is wedding games.  Here are some game ideas which I am excited to try out:

Treasure hunt/Musical Chairs:

Get together a group of people, and chairs for everyone except one person and put all the chairs on the dance floor.  Each participant is given a card with an item to find in the reception hall (a piece of fruit from the buffet, your grandma’s shoe, a groomsman’s boutonniere, etc).  While participants search for their items, have competition music playing.  The last person back, who doesn’t have a chair, will have to do chores for the bride and groom for a year.

Kiss for a Dare:

Instead of guests clinking their glasses or ringing a bell to make the bride and groom kiss, put dares or tasks on each of the tables.   If the table would like to see you kiss, they will have to do what is on the card.  Please customize cards for every table, so that the kids table has to do the funky chicken and not take shots of vodka.

Garter Relay:

Make two teams of male participants.  Teams will flip a coin to see who goes first.  Each team will line up across from a chair.  Participants will pick a number between 1-10 to see who sits in the chair first.  Each subsequent participant must race to the chair and put a garter on the person sitting in the chair, once they do they will switch places.  The garter-wearer will run back to the front of the line, remove the garter and hand it to the next participant.  The team with the fastest time wins.

There is a saying, “be prepared for the unexpected” and unfortunately the unexpected can be expensive.  I’m not indicating that you will end up like this couple.  What I am saying, is don’t completely max out your budget because you don’t know what adjustments you might need to make down the line.  For example, do you have a rain plan?  Or, does your organized transportation have back-up in case something goes wrong like a flat tire?  And then there is the complete random like an infestation of bees and needing to call someone to remove the hive or run to the store for bee keeper outfits… or a polar bear blocking your entrance?

I keep reading about unique, small details to add character to our wedding.  You know, small things that won’t cost a lot but will make the day more special, more memorable?  I came across this posting which parallels something I have been contemplating every morning for the last week: should I wear perfume on our wedding day?

Every morning this week, when I have spritzed on my favorite, honey-purchased perfume, I’ve considered whether or not I want to spray perfume anywhere near my beautiful, bridal gown.  Honestly, I haven’t decided yet…  but, if you think this is a great idea, I would recommend you check out Philosophy’s Amazing Grace.  It’s what I wear every day, and it’s a beautiful, light, clean scent.

Let’s talk about one of the important items in a wedding list which, I think, we haven’t touched yet since we started writing wedding blogs. Maybe we have mentioned it in the past, but we haven’t really focused on it. What I’m talking about is the wedding or the bridal car.

Yes, the wedding car is really important, unless you want to walk from your house to the church, or just ride a wedding bike… if there is one. Some don’t need it since they get married in their backyard. But most often, brides need to have their modern day carriage. It would be a pity to see a beautiful bride walk under a scorching sun.

Now, let me link you to a site which will give you tips on how to decorate your designated wedding car. It is just an inexpensive wedding car decoration, but would really look nice as long as you know how to decorate. If not, you can always ask a friend to help you out.

Hello you fabulous people. I’m so excited since we are facing the last hours of this year. When the clock strikes twelve midnight, we’ll have a new exciting year. But as the saying goes, “It isn’t over till the fat lady sings!” So here is my last wedding blog for the year.

Today’s wedding blog is neither about how you can get wedding savings nor about how to have an inexpensive wedding. It is about luck. I have a video here where a groom, who decided to parade his bride by carrying her and marching along the road instead of riding in the bridal car, was lucky enough to avoid a horrific accident.

Click the video (from eBaum’s World) and be amazed at how lucky this couple was. I would have fainted if I was the bride being carried by the groom. Well, this has been your Wedding Diva saying, Have a Happy New Year everyone and enjoy planning your wedding! Toodles!

Wedding day also your bad hair day? As a bride, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to walk the aisle with bad hair! As we all know, hair is a woman’s crowning glory and today’s wedding blog is about having perfect hair on your wedding day.

With regard to looking beautiful on your wedding day, I won’t actually recommend you to be cheap on this particular wedding detail. It’s great if your hairstylist gives you a discount and you manage to garner some wedding savings on that, but if you can’t find an inexpensive wedding hairstylist that will make you look really – as Richard would say – fabulous on your wedding day, then I urge you to splurge on this one. On the other hand, it’s easier to find inexpensive wedding gowns but not look cheap in them while awful hair will never redeem the look of even the most expensive gowns.

We have featured a lot of wedding blogs about bizarre weddings. You’ve seen gothic weddings, zombie weddings, and the like. This are the things most conservatives can’t comprehend doing.

Today, I will feature another bizarre wedding celebration. Well, maybe it’s bizarre or weird to us, but not to the people celebrating it. It’s part of their culture and to them it’s quite normal. What I am talking about here is the wedding between two frogs. A group of Indian people married these two amphibians (and since they’re Indians, this most probably was an arranged marriage) for them to have rain.

There’s really no known metreological explanation on how the union of two cold blooded amphibians can help in the change of weather. But this is what the Indians believe in and we just have to enjoy and be amazed in their weird festivities.
